Being a team means picking each other up when they have fallen down. It means celebrating the individual successes and the team highs, and rallying together to work towards a common goal. It’s a place for fun, laughter, trust and support for anyone who joins. It’s a place where everyone has each other’s back.

Being part of THIS team? I can’t think of any place I’d rather be.

TEAM is a documentary film about the values instilled in each and every member of the Belconnen Magpies Football Club’s senior women’s team. The values of trust, determination, backing each other up, giving it a go and most of all striving to win.

There are super stars. There’s the new blood and old, those that have never kicked a ball and those who seem to have been born with one in their hand. Each player has their own story.  Some have come from the highs of another sport, others from a footy fanatical family, and others still whose brother, father or partner has led them to the field.

But for each of them, it is that first tackle, bump, handball, mark or kick, and it is game on … this is a film about football and a team who want nothing more than to win.

TEAM is being produced and directed by Canberran filmmaker Kim Beamish, through his company Non’D’Script.  Kim’s films have been internationally awarded and recognised, and he is about to premiere his latest feature documentary, titled Oyster, in the coming months.

We are now looking to raise the funds necessary to produce TEAM, and, as a Canberra film, we want to work with Canberran businesses and individuals to produce it here in the ACT.

Funds raised will be used to pay for the hire of equipment, wages for extra crew, editing and post-production costs, legal and accounting costs, and everything else it will take to make this film a reality on the big screen.

We already have the support of NSW/ACT AFL, who have endorsed the production and we have been successful in gaining a grant from the ACT Office for Women.

All financial support is 100% tax deductible through the backing of the Documentary Australia Foundation.  All support will also be acknowledged in the credits of the film, along with any online or marketing materials during production and after the film is completed.

Please feel free to contact Kim Beamish at kim@nondscript.com or on 0477 483 497 to discuss how you or your business can be associated with TEAM.

It’s about one awesome group of girls who want to play fairly and win.
